Hi, I'm Heather!

I’m a graphic designer, illustrator, and communications specialist based in Maryland with a passion for communicating complex topics in a digestible way. Since 2020, I have worked at NASA in various positions. Currently, I’m a senior communications specialist and designer for NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate contracted through Poarch Creek Indians Productions (PCI-P).

At NASA, I support a range of areas within the directorate including commercial crew and cargo, human research, the International Space Station, launch services, rocket propulsion testing, and space communications and navigation. I design products used at conferences, program plans and reports, social media content, senior leadership presentations, and more. I also write an internal newsletter that is distributed to more than 15,000 members of the workforce, draft notes from our senior leadership, and attend events as an agency representative.

Before coming to NASA, I worked as a graphic designer at a fast-paced public relations agency specializing in healthcare. Prior to working at an agency, I completed two internships: one with NASA’s Orion program and one with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in digital art from Bowling Green State University.
