NASA, SPACE OPERATIONS MISSION DIRECTORATE
BRANDING | EVENT ATMOSPHERICS | PRODUCTS
NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate maintains a continuous human presence in space for the benefit of people on Earth. The programs within the directorate are the heart of NASA’s space exploration efforts, enabling Artemis, commercial space, science, and other agency missions through communication, launch services, research capabilities, and crew support.
In September 2021, former NASA Administrator Bill Nelson announced the agency was creating two new mission directorates that would best position the agency for the next 20 years. The move separated the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate into the new Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate and Space Operations Mission Directorate.
Space Operations was in need of its own look and feel that – while still in line with NASA’s style – ignited pride and collaboration within members of the directorate. This branding campaign aimed to unite the many divisions and programs within the directorate, displaying a unified front to the public and boosting employee morale internally. I designed the internal identifier for the directorate as well as the many products needed for events including banners, patches, shirt designs, tablecloths, binders, and more.
